Trying to setup mail account for recieving notifications in JIRA Service Desk automatically and get the following message when trying to configure POP/Secure POP/IMAP/Secure IMAP:
Unfortunately JIRA couldn't connect to the mail server. Here is what the mail server said: "Connect timed out" Check out our troubleshooting docs for help resolving the issue.
I know mail server / password are correct so I'm not sure why it won't allow me to set it up.
The log file is likely to tell you more about the error. "Connect timed out" usually means that JIRA can't reach the mail server for networking reasons or the mail server not running on that server/port/etc. It still might be incorrect credentials though, depending on how the mail server responds to that error.
