Prevent one user from needing to approve request twice (automation?)

Our approvals: Person A --> Person B --> Person C.  Each approval is a separate step.

Rarely, Person A and Person C are the same person.  So, Person A has to approve the request, another person approves, and then Person A has to then approve again.

Any way to do the following? "If this request has been approved a person, and if this person is in a subsequent approval step, then this approval step should be auto-approved."

Hi Jason.

You could have two transitions to status where person B appproves:

• from status B to status C approver when person A != person C
• from status B further status C when person A == person C

Where do I go in JSD to make those types of rules?  I don't see anything like that in the workflow diagram.

Unfortunatelly there is no build-in instrument to achive this. 

You need to use some plugin. 

We use ScriptRunner, but it is not free ane and need to write code.
