Not able to adapt search filter

When selecting a search filter for editing the search path / the input prompt line does not appear and also the failure statement "failed to retrieve favorite filters from server" appears (see picture highlited in yellow). First off, I think you may have exposed your password in posting a windows command line in one of the posts :-(

Looking at your URL it seems this may not be Atlassian cloud but a custom hosted site. Is that correct?

In which case try the curl URL without the '/jira'

That may be the cause of the broken link errors. If not I'm not sure how to progress.

Do you know how the problem JQL query was constructed? Is it possible to create it afresh and see it gets around the issue?

things to try. As it’s looks like you’re hosted rather than cloud,

try the following

Curl with same url but api 2 again
Try with a key for a report that is working
login to Jira on your browser and the paste rest url
if you have database access run sql SELECT * FROM SEARCHREQUEST

Running out of suggestions I’m afraid.

- All filter work, but I am not able to edit the query for the saved filters (saved ones under my filter)

- there is no list of favorite filters

- if I perfom a sql search from the scratch the filter works and tools and export are available, though if a choose one of the saved filters then the connection with the server is not possible (according to the reported failure / printscreen)

that is a very simple query with none of the features I was expecting i.e. references to users or groups.

And just to confirm, this happens with this particular JQl or any JQL?

this is for any SQL requests. Unfortunately I do not know where to look for the server logs.

Just checked on Administration site of jira, all logs are off. Should I activate one of these (

HTTP Access Logging, SQL Logging) and maybe mark them?

To return the earlier link to a similar bug i.e. "no favourites shown when one of the filters is shared with a deleted group"

Are you able to pull back your other favourites using curl and see if one has a group clause in it?

The server should be logging to <jira-home>/log/atlassian-jira.log by defqult where <jira-home> is the directory jira uses for it's storage of backups, attachments etc.

The other logs aren't of interest.

Checked the other filters, they look the same, i.e. no group clause in there. Created a new filter and performed the search. As soon as I save the filter the sql filter prompt disappears and the saved filter can not be edited.

Thank you for your answer. The filter is private, so not shared with anybody. I had a look at the bug report. I do not know where to find the problematic user und where to update the app_user list.

A suggestion to get the filter text without SQL

if you can get to the manage issues page and see your filter listed. Hover over it to see the id in the bottom status bar e.g. 10002

Then you can use curl to call this rest API to retrieve the details

 curl -u admin:admin http://toms-mbp-3:2990/jira/rest/api/2/filter/10002

using your own user and server name.

I'm still assuming there is an issue in the query itself.

Just a note to say, the curl calls will tell us what the query is and hopefully troubleshoot it.

Fixing it is more difficult as the filter screen won't parse and display it.

options are to edit in the database - always a risky step

or recreate it without whatever issue we suspect is the problem - simplest approach once you have the filter text.
