No Multilanguage Support?

Deleted user November 3, 2019

Hello,

We have a problem with JSD and it's bigger than we thought.
We have customers all over the world. The only common side of our customers is using our product.

When we installed JSD on our server for the first time, we shocked to there is no multilanguage support. Some plugins solve the problem by changing the language on the frontend side, but this does not solve the problem on the search engine side.

When does a french man want to open a ticket on our support desk, what you want us to tell him? Should we tell him "search in as English"?

This is unacceptable and so silly at the same time. Please provide a solution.

The silliest thing is also there is nothing like IP Based Location on the login page to show users the login page in their language.

Hi Safak,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

On Jira Service Desk Server, since version 3.3 was released, customers can change their language in the customer portal:

Customers can change their language preference in the portal by selecting Profile under their profile avatar, and then choosing to Edit their profile. This means the portal and future notifications will be sent to them in their chosen language.

The multilingual customer portal is available only for the Cloud version where we have the "Language support" menu and administrators can customize the translations in the portal and also notifications.

For Server, we have a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:

I added the link to this question and also your feedback as an internal comment, but feel free to add any other comment in the feature. Also, click on vote and watch to receive future updates.

Regards,
Angélica
