Is there a way to go out of JSD customer portal?

Simon G_ August 18, 2015

Hi!

On JIRA Service Desk Customer portal, there is no application navigator, no way to create a link and it's not possible to change the link "Help Center" (if I'm wrong, please tell me! smile)

So, when my customer is on the customer portal, he can only open an issue or close this panel of his web browser. I want that my user be able to be redirected on my confluence main page or on my company website. How can I do that?

Best regards.

Hi Takar,

have you try to use Extension for JIRA Service Desk? There is option to add links to your customer portal. There are also many features that can make your customer portal more user friendly.

Here you can find documentation: https://intenso.atlassian.net/wiki/display/SPFJSD/Links+and+Language+Switcher

I hope I've helped you.

You can specify a link like

[linktext|http://...]

means you can use at least part of the same formatting language that is available in issue description (e.g. \\ for new line works, too).

Indeed, using the service Desk Portal description is a good workaround but not perfect. You can't define a link (so you are obliged to use http://mywebsite.com and not a link like this) and you can customize the style. But yes, it's better than nothing!

Larry, thanks for your response, but I don't want that my customer have to go in "My request" to find a link until confluence.

There's a "My Requests" link on the upper right of a JSD portal display which will display all the requests from the logged in user. If an issue is selected from that list, there will be a "Reference: <ticket id>" link on the right of the summary display with opens a detail display.  This detailed display is still part of the JSD but one has complete access to all fields and workflow functions in this display.

(Note - I'm running JSD v2.04 so your experience may be better with a newer version.)

What about putting some links in your Service Desk Portal description?
