Insight crashed after update

Chris Schulte July 2, 2020

I performed a routine update of the Insight app to version 8.6.1 and got the message: The app has been installed but cannot be enabled. Refer to the logs for more information.

Which logs to I check? So far, none of them have been helpful. Quick search on the web hasn't been helpful either.

I'm using Jira Core 8.10.0 and Jira Service Desk 4.10.0.

Please help.

Chris

Hi Chris.

The log which will contain the error message is the atlassian-jira.log file, which can be found as described here :https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver081/logging-and-profiling-970609439.html.

I would like to encourage to raise a ticket in our Support portal: https://portal.mindville.com/

So you can share your log with us, and we can better investigate the issue you are experiencing.

Kind regards,

Yinon

After a lot of help from @yinon_negev  I got this working.

As it turned out, all I had to do was shut down jira, remove JIRA_HOME/plugins/.osgi-plugins and JIRA_HOME/plugins/.bundled-plugins and then restart.

I did not touch anything in JIRA_INSTALL/work/ or /var/atlassian/application-data/jira/caches/insight_indexes. Doing that on the test platform erased all the assets and no amount of indexing could bring them back.
