How to get LDAPS over SSL to work with self signed certificate.

Timothy Hall January 8, 2020

I am currently getting the following error. HOSTNAME:636; nested exception is javax.naming.CommunicationException: HOSTNAME:636 [Root exception is java.net.SocketException: Connection reset]. I have already put the Root Certificate into the Java Root CA Store located here "Program Files\Atlassian\JIRA\jre\lib\security\cacerts" Please let me know if im missing something.

Thanks,

Timothy

Hi,

Hope you've followed the instructions from the link given below along with update CATALINA_OPTS to specify the path to the keystore (#4).

https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/connecting-to-ldap-or-jira-applications-or-other-services-via-ssl-133817.html

Also make sure that to test your application will be able to talk to LDAP server over SSL. (ex: telnet ldapserver ldapsecureport)

Hope this help
