Just began using Jira and we have not been using the Organizations field in the tickets. Started realizing that in some of the queues the Reporter is listed but not the company he is a part of. Is there a way to display this information without having to go back and populate the Organization field for all of the tickets we have created?
Note: I have tested populating a reporter's ticket with the organization but it doesn't trickle to the other tickets the reporter has in the queue.
Please note that unless organizations field is set to a valid value, it won't show in the queue. When you view such an issue in issue navigator, it will show "organization" as None.
An alternative could be to use bulk editing all such issues using a JQL filter and applying bulk operations. This is explained in detail in following Atlassian cloud support article
