How can I figure out how many tickets are created from emails vs the portal?

Exactly the title.

How can I tell how many tickets came in from each method?

you can search - project = ABC and request-channel-type = portal

exchange the portal for email

Is this a service desk project? If so try to search for "Customer Request Type" in advanced mode search

I am very new to JIRA, so it took a little figuring out, but I found it!

For the super rookies (like myself)

At the main screen, Issues > Search for issues > change search to Advanced > then use the search string recommended by @Jack Brickey.
