How can I create a Jira SD ticket from a Jira ticket?

Just that, really.

Our developers use Jira for managing their agile projects.  As part of those projects, they will want us (the release team) to promote their changes into test environments, then live etc etc (amongst other things).

We'll be using Jira SD to service these requests.  Currently they have to raise a ticket within Jira SD and link to the "parent" Jira project, but it would be far better if they can fire off a request within that parent project.

Is that possible?  So in the same way that you can clone, link etc from jira tickets, have an aoption for "create Jira SD ticket" too? Could that be scripted?

Hi Graham,

We do that using post-workflow - Create and link - Jira Workflow Toolbox plugin.  But other plugins work as well.  Trickiest part is setting the Request type.
