Has anyone tried to add a "interactive map" as a field for jira portal?

Joshua Sung June 23, 2019

Hi,

We have a section of physical locations were our customers can report an issue and we believe that this is easiest to explain for people to just click on an map to describe the area where the issue is occurring. This was based around having a map view of each floor and able to drop a little pin of where the issue is.

Does anyone know if this is possible or a way of implementing this into Jira?

If people have suggestions for Cloud or Onprem, that'd be great.

Hi @Joshua Sung ,

I don't know any solutions on the Atlassian Marketplace but it sounds really interesting! Could you please explain more? Or present this idea in some visual way? "Physical locations" mean some offices / departments / countries?

So in my example, imagine you have a floor plan of a floor, the user is complaining about the aircon or some leak that is happening. They might not know their seat number off by heart so just clicking it on a map (like dropping a pin) will make it easier for them to report the issue.

This is especially useful if they report a problem that's not near any seat, e.g. west stairwell on the 4th floor.

Being able to work out trends as well to see if it's already been reported would be great too, then there would be fewer repeat tickets about the same problem.

Do you have any ideas?
