We want to set up email channel for jira service desk, and hope to read the email thread for a given ticket from database for our customized tools.
However, there is a database cleaner option that ranging from 14 ~ 180 days. So the email data in jira's database is not persistent.
Is there a way for us to disable the database cleaner?
Hi Youyou,
There is a Suggestion ticket you can find at JSDSERVER-1987 which actually recommended the opposite - decreasing the amount of time the emails are kept due. This is due to the fact they "will cause customer's databases (and therefore backups) to grow very fast."
I did some research and did not see an existing feature request to disable the database cleaner so at this time I would recommend going to JAC and creating a Suggestion ticket to have this feature added to JIRA in the future. If you do create the JAC ticket please provide the link on this thread so the rest of the community can vote on the feature to add impact.
If you come up with a workaround in the meantime let us know!
Cheers,
Branden
