I'm trying to set up a custom automation rule based on this kb article "Automating your service desk"
What I'm trying to do:
In the help desk JSD project, if there is a certain request to automatically create another JIRA in a different space.
For the date field, is there a way to make sure the date follows "today" or whenever the rule is triggered?
Currently, by creating the automation rule on August 3rd and selecting the "today" option. All tickets default to August 3rd.
Hi @Aaron Smith
Currently, it's not possible to set the date automatically, we have a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature.
As a workaround, you can use the add-on Jira Misc Workflow Extensions and set a post function to add the date.
After installing the add-on, please follow the steps below:
1 - Select the relevant workflow
2 - Choose issue created transition
3 - Add a post function Set field value (JMWE add-on)
4 - Select Due date in drop down for Field
5 - Use either issue.fields.created or now to generate today's date
6 - Save the post function
7 - Publish workflow
