Email requests not working/not showing up in JIRA

jeremy.rosine June 27, 2019

When I send test emails to support@mydomain.com JIRA never creates a request for the emails.

I can validated that the emails are being delivered to my support@mydomain.com address, and that something is setting the messages to "read", I'm guessing the JIRA email poller is reading them and then breaking/not creating the email request.

I verified that I have the support@mydomain.com setup in my Project settings > Email Requests.

Something so simple, you'd think it would just work.

Hello Jeremy and welcome to the community!

Did you verify if your incoming mail handler receives is correctly configured and receives the email?

This would be the first place to go to diagnose the issue.

Let me know if you need any help for the verifications.

Best regards,

Jean-Théo

Thanks Jean-Théo, yes I did verify my email settings.

I figured out it was customer permissions in the project settings. I needed to go to Jira Settings icon > Projects > ...Project settings > customer permissions.

I then had to select the "Anyone can send a request via the portal or support@mydomain.com"
