Does JIRA 6.4.x/JSD 2.50 allow Customers to access JIRA Dashboard to view their submitted/open tickets

A July 1, 2015

I'm in the process of evaluating new Service Desk version v2 (Agent based model, Customers are free).  We want to allow our Customers to see info on their submitted tickets via Dashboard.  I tried to create a dashboard for a specific customer.  There is a drop-down list to allow to add shares, the choices in the drop down are "Everyone", "Group", and "Project".   Since I already created a group for this Customer, I intended to select this group to share, but looks like only non-Customer related groups showing in the drop down list for me to select, e.g. JIRA-Administrators, JIRA-USERS, JIRA-Developers, Service-Desk_Agents.   I don't see the group I created for the Customer.  That leads me to think JIRA doesn't allow Customers to view dashboard.  Has anyone experienced the same issue as I do?  Any info or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Joao for the useful info!  When you say "Allow public access to the project", do you mean to enable "public signup" feature to allow everyone to access?  If not,  could you be kind enough to show me what to do (steps) to get there?  Very much appreciate your help!

Hi there!

Since customers are not granted the USE permission on JIRA, they will not have access to any other part of JIRA besides the Customer Portal. An option would be to allow public access to the project and then share the dashboard with everyone, however any person with access to your application (even without an account) would have access to it.

Let me know if you need any assistance on configuring the option I outlined above. wink
