We heard from customer that project is not visible to them. We have added as "service desk customer" in People. When we cross check permission scheme we could find service desk customer -portal access" in browse project and in most of permissions.
We manually added service desk customer in browse project (permission scheme)and noticed its working.
Does this inclusion will have any impact since we have shared permission scheme across all projects.
What is the purpose of service desk customer -portal access. Is this option doesn't provide customer project visibility?
Any other option is available to make sure project visibity to customers.

If the users are shown under “Customers” then they should be able to access the Portal. Try this, create a test gmail or similar email account (useful to have as an admin so you can test from a Customer perspective). go to Customers and add the email as a Customer. Se if the customer email can access the portal. You should get an invite email you can click on to login.
