Created issue - email notification?

Hi,

We're using Jira 7.9.2.  

Is there a way to set up Jira to notify the assignee as soon as an issue is created?

Thank you for reaching out.

Yes, you can configure a notification to be sent to the assignee when an issue is created by using the Notification scheme of the related project, as described in the documentation below:

Notification schemes

These would be the specific steps to configure the notification:

  • Choose the Jira icon (, or ) > Projects > Choose the project related to the issues you want to be notified to their assignees
  • Go to Project settings > Notifications
  • Add the Current Assignee to Issue Created notification:

P.S: Usually, the default assignee is already configured to be notified.
