Create a procurement process with approvals and integrating with an ERP system

george papamitrou January 22, 2019

Hi, I want to create a procurement requisition process with an approvals matrix and integrate it with SAP. Here are some details:

1. Create a requisition.

2.  create a workflow matrix based on $ limits for approvals.

3. Able to see the status of the requisition at any stage of approval.

3. Once approved, "push" to ERP (SAP).

4. Push data from SAP to JIRA for status updates (PO creation, Receipt of goods etc. )

5. Push changes from JIRA to SAP  (QTYs, Part#s, $$s etc.)

Has anyone done anything similar with JIRA, maybe the use of marketplace APPs?

Thank you,

George

SAP Business One can serve detailed information regarding items needed and when they would be consumed. Its order recommendations take account of expected lead times, providing the optimal time to purchase an item so that it arrives in time.

Typically, you will need to create a Jira/JSM project, then customize the WF to tailor the issue status tracking throughout the process.  You can also utilize automation rule to trigger a push of Jira/JSM issues data to your SAP system via webhook, where on your SAP system will process the Jira/JSM issue JSON payload for integration.

Of course you can also search in Atlassian Marketplace for third party add-ons to further assist the integration between Jira/JSM application and SAP systems (i.e. bi-directional integrations) with minimum effort of coding required.

Hope this helps.

Checkout streamlines your purchasing process, manages vendors, budgets and has a shopping like experience. It also handles PO creation process and send them to vendors. It has a built in asset management to help keep inventory of all purchases.
