Changing Issue Type within a ticket

Team,

Can we change the Issue type within one JIRA ticket.

For ex- My L1 team will receive the ticket with the issue type = Incident, then later ticket has to be passed to L2 team. So at this point can we change type of issue = Problem ?

Yes.  If the issue type is on the edit screen, you can change it there, although the start and end type must be configured the same to do that.

If they are not configured the same, then you'll need to use "move -> <same project> -> new issue type"

Hi,

You can use the Move button from the issue to transition it to another issue type.  You can use Moving an issue as a reference.
