My customers don't add any formatting to their requests because they refuse to learn the wiki syntax, even though I provide a link to the reference next to the fields' help.
Can Wiki Editor for JIRA please support the Service Desk plugin?
Do you mean on the customer portal? If so, I don't think the Wiki Editor has that feature (would be nice)
For the actually service desk try disabling the module service-desk-comment-field on the service desk addon. I did this and it has enable the Wiki Editor on the service desk comments box, but it disabled the "Internal Only" comment TAB and the customer "Reporter" flag next to the comment a customer makes, but it did reinstate the default comment box with the restriction dropdown box.
I'm not 100% sure what else this disables tho, so use with caution and test.
