Github Integration for Jira Cloud for Mac

Andrew Spear October 7, 2019

When I use the Jira website to view a ticket I see a Development section with Commits and Pull Requests from Github, it's really useful:

Is there a setting I need to change to enable Github integration in the desktop app? Or are integrations not possible in the current version of the app... or is there something else I'm missing?

Hi @Andrew Spear , thank you for your feedback! The development section in Jira Mac app yet is not yet ready. We will be looking into this very soon, so stay tune.

While we have you here, will be good for us to know more about how you use the development section:

  • Are the high level development information like above enough for you, or do you usually clickthrough to find out more details?
  • Besides Github, is there any other integrations that you are currently using that you would love to see in the Mac app?

Thanks!

Thanks Irene. To your questions:

  1. We use this feature to see see the pull requests and click through to Github for more info. The high level summary shown above would not be enough to perform this, for example if I clicked "2 commits" which commit would it take me to? In the Jira web app clicking "2 commits" opens a popup which lists the individual commits so I can click the one I'm interested in to view it on Github (and same for pull requests). We would need similar functionality for this to be useful on the Mac app.
  2. Github is the only integration we're using right now.

Cheers

Andrew
