Can we close a sprint without requiring the closing of subtasks?

Alex Viale October 9, 2019

In our Jira instance, we have use a "Released" status for our stories/bugs/tasks, that is subsequent to "Verified/Done".  Once stories/bugs/tasks are moved to "Released" they then currently have to manually move all subtasks to "Released" also.

Wondering if there's a way to automate all the subtasks closing when the stories/bug/task (parent) is moved to "Released".

Overall goal is to close the sprint and report accurately (at the story/bug/task) level what was done. We don't care about reporting on the subtasks... it's just a mechanism for teams to swarm on stories.

Hi, Alex.

JSU can definitely do this. It automates repetitive tasks, synchronizes data inputs across related issues, and configures workflows without coding. See the helpful documentation here to find out more: https://confluence-apps.beecom.ch/display/JSU/JSU+Configuration+Guide

It is possible, but you would need an app to do it. I know Scriptrunner and JSU Automation can do it, and there are others on the Marketplace that can do it too.
