Possibility to lock filter on a list

David Spire November 29, 2021

Sometime, it's happening that a filter is set under a specific view, then someone is changing that. The good way would be to have ability to restrict edition per view, or just to lock filtering.

hi @David Spire , currently the permissions we support are binary: either you have access to a feature or you don't.

I'd love to understand your context a bit more to see what we can explore here. It looks like we already have a call set up for Friday, let's add this one to the list of topics!

This is needed feature! We have multiple business groups that have multiple business units and teams (and multiple products) - we could have separate projects for each of them but there is huge benefits to have them under same project to collaborate and discuss about ideas that cross groups/teams. Without filtered views it becomes hard to use and it's not practical to have someone fixing filters back after someone has changed them.

Example:

We have development value stream X that collaborates with business units A and B, but not with C. To easily evaluate and prioritize ideas we have created view that shows only ideas linked to VS X. If someone now changes the filter we might end up to situation where something is left out or someone spends time looking ideas that are not relevant to him ect. Also weighted evaluation counts all filter ideas so result is different if there is wrong things on the list at the same time. It's not practical to have all the organizational information visible in every view but only show information that matters and we should be able to trust that chosen filter is not changed (but you should be allowed to filter things inside that) - We want to lock "Value stream" filter but allow filtering with "goals", "customer segments" ect.

Thank you @Riku.Kristersson for the context and it makes complete sense.
