It's my understanding that the Creator role in Jira Product Discovery should be able to create fields:
But Creators on my team are unable to create fields, with a response that only admins have this capability:
Is there a configuration wrong somewhere?
And in case this matters: We are still on beta, but want to ensure when we transition to standard that our Creators will have the field creating ability.
Hi @Ysaac Keith , yes that's easy to do:
Open Project settings > Access
Change the project role for each creator to "Administrator"
This will give them the permission to create and edit fields in this project, invite other people, etc. Their admin scope is limited to this project.
If you just want to give them the ability to create fields but not some of the other stuff that project administrators can do, you can create a custom project role from the same screen (you can choose the list of permissions you give them)
It looks like there isn't currently a way to break out editing fields from the other administrative capabilities like managing people and deleting the project when I create a custom role:
Nonetheless this response still works for me as I was trying to figure out if I had set something up incorrectly. Thanks @Tanguy Crusson !
