None of them.

All the field change history is preserved, but it's nothing to do with "column type".

Could you explain what you're looking for in more detail please?

I have a request to provide a new column that displays current value, while keeping historical values available.

Example:  Column called "Historical Info".  Users want to be able to change the value as necessary, but be able to reference past values of the column.

Sorry, "column"?  Do you mean field, or a column in the navigator, or boards, or...?

Sorry, I mean field.

Ok, the short answer is "no", because a field is simply a field.  It holds the current value, and doesn't need to do anything else.

The full history of change on any field is part of the issue history.  If a user is viewing an issue, that is there in the history tab, but of course, it's the entire history.  You could construct a scripted field that would read the history for your field and pull that out, and then show it under or alongside your field, but you will need coding to do that.

Thank you!
