within JIRA and confluence we define the automatic creation of backup files.
but the number of files is growing, what is the best way to cleanup old files?
Most of us use some form of "log rotate" program on them.
Although for medium and large installations, the recommendation is to turn off the regular backups and use the native database tools along with a file backup of the install and attachments, which will have their own rotation/housekeeping systems.
HI Heering,
You can write batch file which will delete old backup file automatically

Hi Sachin,
Thanks for your answer, which is the option we also thought about. But there is no option from the application side to remove old files?
In the scheduler we can define the frequency of backup, but without a retention or clean function.
Correct?
