Hi,
How long does the upgrade to JIRA 7 take. We are upgrading from v6.4. We have 1920 users and 343 projects.
We need to know so that we can communicate to our developers/clients/etc.
Is there documentation for the steps to be followed during the upgrade?
Thanks

Also, would you be able to provide an estimate for Confluence, Stash and Bamboo.
Confluence: We are on version 5.7.1 and we want to go to 5.9.2. We have 1882 users and 297 projects.
Stash: We are on version 3.8.0 and want to go to 4.2.0. We have 244 users and 85 projects.
Bamboo: We are on version 5.7.2 and want to go to 5.9.7. We have 155 users and 99 plans (30 projects).
Thanks
Exactly as Phill stated. Each instance is unique and we don't have an estimation of how long it can takes to upgrade each one.
The best is to clone the production instances to a development environment and test the upgrade there in order to have a good estimation of time to accomplish all upgrades and configurations.
Cheers,
Rodrigo
Hi,
same situation as in the inital post - we too would like to upgrade from 6.4 to current version, just 60 Users, 20 projects.
As we are a small company and have to plan our personal ressources very clear, I would like to roughly estimate the duration.
Do we need a couple of hours per instance (test first) or means an upgrade an effort of several working days?
Could you please give some approximately estimation?
THX a lot
Guido

Hi
It is virtually impossible to give theoretical estimates on upgrade times as every installation differs in lots of ways. For example you have given no indication of how customised your instances are nor which plugins are installed.
However, as long as you have a non-production environment that matches. You should be following best practice and rehearsing which will give you a reasonable estimate for the processes.
