subtract value from date

I need to subtract a value say 49days from a date field.  I have the "JIRA Misc Custom Fields" plugin installed and can get the value of the date I need to subtract from using 

 

<!-- @@Formula: issue.get("my_date_field") --> 

 

But I can't do any math on it after I get the date.  What do i need to do.

It could be done with Script field provided ScriptRunner plugin. Is it posible for you to use it?
