Our organization has multiple projects in our JIRA cloud instance, but those projects have multiple HipChat domains. Is there a way to connect different projects within the same JIRA instance to different HipChat instances?
Sorry, for the slow reply, but let me try to explain further. Under our agency's JIRA cloud instance, we have many projects that span client teams - there is no overlap in resources, timelines, etc. These are different projects our agency is managing in JIRA. This is working well for us and managing permissions for groups/teams is strait-forward to keep projects contained to the teams working on them.
Within hipchat, managing permissions is not as robust, and managing public/private rooms it not the best way to keep different project teams in their own spaces - it's possible one team on HipChat needs both public and private rooms.
From what I've been able to accomplish, you can only connect one HipChat instance to one JIRA instance. There's no way to connect HipChat at the project level - it's global to all JIRA projects.
Is there away around this? I.E. with slack, you can create separate webhooks, to connect specific projects to different slack instances.
Per https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/46333150 "You can connect multiple instances of JIRA to the same HipChat instance, however you can't connect multiple HipChat instances to the same JIRA instance."
I have multiple projects that use variations of the same base workflow. The variations depend on the requirements of the project or issue type. The variations mostly come in the form of new statuses ...
