how to start a sprint while having error message: "can be planned... "

Tyhnec March 27, 2016

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Starting a Sprint

i have this error: can be planned but not started until the completion of above active sprint. though all of the tasks are done.

so i assume that i need to ask how do you define 'completion' of the sprint ?

appreciate your time and help

thanks!

In JIRA 6.4 with JIRA Agile 6.7.12, go to sprint board 'Active Sprints' view, you click on the down arrow by the sprint name and click on 'Complete Sprint...' button.

If you don't see it, you don't have the permissions to close the sprint.

You have to formally end it (you don't need everything in "done" to do that, although it is the aim of the sprint!).  See https://confluence.atlassian.com/agile/jira-agile-user-s-guide/working-with-sprints/ending-a-sprint
