I'm starting out with Jira, and I'll be collecting issues by repository from GitHub. How can I view all projects in Jira, rather than one at a time? This is for Project Management purposes, so I can organise a team across several projects.
OK, some basics first;
A project is a collection of issues (see here for more: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira064/what-is-a-project-720416135.html) that can be based on applications, teams, system component groups, etc.
A Team will use a "Board" to see the status of the issues assigned to the team - Kanban and/or Sprint - Agile. The board is based on the filter that is applied to determine what issues should be displayed. (see here for more info: https://confluence.atlassian.com/agile/jira-agile-user-s-guide/creating-a-board and https://confluence.atlassian.com/agile/jira-agile-user-s-guide/configuring-a-board)
Soooo.... when you create your board (Kanban or AGILE) you can include as many "Projects" as you want in your filter. If necessary, you might create a "Management Board" that includes all your projects while the teams use boards with smaller scopes. If you go with a "Management Board" you might want to use Quick filters to manipulate how much info you see.
Hope this helps! Oh, and "Welcome aboard"!
We use Tempo plugin to organize our tems to work on several projects.
