Hello. We currently have one JIRA instance running. We are wanting to know if we can set up another instance on a separate server with a separate license yet join it to the current one. We want to share workflows, projects, etc but have 2 instances running. is this possible? Any tips or instructions on how to do this.
Thanks
You can run what is known as a federated instance, which basically allows some cross-searches between the instances, allows for issues to be moved between projects between the servers. Each server will however run it's own license. I never did it, so not sure if it will only show workflows on the server you are connected to. Don't know for sure, but i am guessing this is as close to what you want, that you can achieve.
Jessica,
There are various synchronization solutions available on the marketplace - check following query
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?q=issue+sync
We are the team behind Exalate (which is one of these solutions)
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.exalate.jiranode/server/overview
It fully covers your use case, and we are very willing to help in case you decide to evaluate our solution.
