We need to use our jira for tasks management with external vendor (often different 1-time engagements)
It is important for us to document all the communication with these vendors in the tickets and as well to get update on tickets when vendor respond. adding comments to the ticket will not send email to vendor, what can we do to enable it?
This sounds like you need Jira Service Desk.
Anyway, if you don't want to inverst too much money, you can upgrade Jira with some plugins to send better mails. But one problem will remain: Jira send's only mails to users that have Jira accounts - and not to anonymous ones.
