Will non-JIRA tables in the JIRA DB be deleted when restoring?

A client wishes to do some integration with the JIRA database, and they want to set it up before a JIRA migration.

I see 2 scenarios:

1) All of the database JIRA- and non-JIRA tables is cleared and replaced with the JIRA data to restore

2) All JIRA tables are cleared and replaced, but non-JIRA tables remain

Which is it?

While I am not sure what your client wants to do I would suggest that if you want to add your own tables/views is to create another user/schema say "JIRAAUX" and allow that user to view tables/data in JIRAUSER.  This would prevent your client from accidentally deleting/wiping data of doing things that will affect JIRA in a negative way... and you never have to worry about what happens to those tables durring a backup, migration, upgrade, etc.

If you wipe the JIRAUSER tables and use an XML backup, then you are going to lose that data in the extra tables
