Why can't I delete false values in field "Remaining Estimate"?

I want to remove (and not orrect) false values in field "Remaining Estimate".  After pressing [Update] I get the feed back that the issue was updated, but the field still shows the old value even after refreshing display with <F5> key.

Why?

Is there any automatic function behind related to contents of "Original Estimate"?

Sometimes I have "original Estimate" filled, but "remaining estimate" empty!

Yes, the remaining estimate field is not quite a field itself.  There's a pile of functionality around the "time tracking" field that the "remaining estimate" is part of.

Could you outline an example of the data that is "false" and how it got there?  Best bet is to look at an issue where it is "false" and tell us

• What the issue estimate was when it was created
• What the work logs say
• From the history, what estimates have been changed (all the estimates, not just remaining)
