When using Basic Search, how do I get criteria filters to stay, even though they are set to all?

Nathan Given January 25, 2017

I have a saved JIRA Filter that many people on my team use, and I'd like to set up the criteria such that when each person on my team opens the filter they see all the fields that I've pre-selected and each field that is displayed defaults to "All" (e.g., I want users to be able to quickly and easily filter on "Component", "Epic Link", and "Reporter".  So I want to save my filter with those fields set to "All" whenever someone opens the filter).

Then, after the user has opened the filter, they could then start changing some of the "All" selections to be more specific, and filter down to some specific issues (e.g., filter down to certain components).

How can I do this?

Thank you,

Nathan

If you saved a filter, it saves the criteria for that filter. Everything else is defaulted to 'all'. There is no way to share the settings on your browser because selecting 'all' is not added as part of the filter.

For example, if you selected 'All' for components, it is not added as a criteria on the filter query. If you selected a specific component, it is added as part of the query. Only what is in the query is saved and shared.

The only other thing that you can share is the filter columns. Hope that clarifies.
