Why we have different log files in Jira, what kind of logs each log file below captures?

atlassian-jira.log

atlassian-greenhopper.log

atlassian-jira-http-access.log

atlassian-jira-http-dump.log

atlassian-jira-security.log

atlassian-jira-sql.log

atlassian-jira-incoming-mail.log

Also, Is there any particular file in which logs for API calls made from JIRA to other applications are captured?

Thanks in Advance.

Look for and in log4j.properties. This is where the java classes individual logging is redirected to one or more outputs.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver071/logging-and-profiling-802592962.html

The defaults (i.e what goes where) i leave to Atlassians docs to explain.
