There is a key ID popup box that looks like a dialogue bubble that comes up every time I look at a list of issues. It seems to have no purpose and it just gets in the way and sometimes gets stuck. What is it for? Can I get rid of it?
I only see that when a row gets focus/selected... just click on the row again and it goes away.
Can't say I have ever seen it "get stuck" though. Don't know anyway you can surpress it using the Cloud version.
You could always switch to the "Details View" - I don't see it in that version, but it's not one of my favorites.
For me it is coming up every time you go into a list. It automatically pops up a key bubble for the top row which shows as automatically selected. It will also pop up on a selected row as you said. It just seems useless and just annoying. I have to click it to close it or it just stays on the screen forever and will occasionally stick there even if I navigate out to a different part of the site (this doesn't happen every time, though). You are correct that it doesn't happen in the details view; I prefer to work with the list view, though.
I can confirm that this highly annoying behavior just started occurring for me in our JIRA Cloud instance. Unfortunately, I am unable to dismiss this bubble/popup, and it interferes with my ability to read/type text in comment fields. The only fix seems to be to reload the page for the issue, which is HIGHLY annoying to have to do for every issue.
Atlassian, please fix this problem, and please stop adding buggy UI elements that interfere with the use of JIRA. The UI is laggy enough as it is without having to reload every page to get rid of a useless piece of buggy eye candy.
Here's a hint for anyone who wants to see the issue ID: look at the URL.
