Space and Page permission clarification

I have a space that Group A has full permission to and Group B only has view permission to.

Then I have a page in that space where the view and edit is restricted to both Group A and Group B,

but users in Group B are unable to edit the page?

What am I missing about Space and Page permissions?

The home page is not view or edit restricted at the page level.

You've answered your own question: Group B only has view permission

Restrictions do not grant more rights, they limit the existing ones.
