Replying to JIRA notificaitons

Chris Flynn December 15, 2015

Is it possible to setup two different values for the Return-Path and the From field?

The JIRA notifications come from a mail domain that comes from my company, but is only setup for outgoing mail. The Return-Path has to be sent to go our parent company's email domain.

Email notification comes from – > JIRA@mycompany.com

Reply should go to – > JIRA@parentcompany.com

Is this configuration possible?

Hi Chris,

you could try to define your Projects-Email:

project mail.png

This address is used as senders for JIRA notifications of that project. In your case: JIRA@parentcompany.com

You can reach the configuration site by entering following url as admin:

jira.youdomain.tld/plugins/servlet/project-config/PROJECTKEY

Hope this helps. Cheers,
Mario

This is a nice idea and thank you very much for the quick response. However, I forgot to mention that the "mycompany.com" email domain server cannot send emails as "parentcompany.com" addresses, because it is the wrong domain. So the "mycompany.com" email server sends the notification, but I need the reply to go to the "parentcompany.com" email server. Maybe I should attach a quick diagram. :)
