Prompting for a description on the "Blocked" status

Is there a way to force a prompt when setting the "Blocked" status that requests a description/reason for the status?

Hi Brian,

Yes that's possible. To do exactly what you describe, you will need a few things. I recently answered a very similar question about entering a comment on a transition. You can find the description here: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/42693071.

In short:

• You need a screen having the fields you want to pop up when someone is making the transition. Or an empty screen if the comments field is enough to cover your requirement here.
• In the workflow, add your screen to the transition.

That's actually it. You can go one step further and add a validator to your transition to make the field required.

And that should do the trick.
