Dear Community,

we have some problems with setting a filter, we have components with different endings for example [CN] or [IR]….

Unfortunately we couldn´t find any way to set a basic filter in JIRA.

Project = JIRA and Component contains “[CN]”

We want to set filter that we will get shown only components with the content [CN] an so on.

Hopefully you can help us to find the right way.

Regards,

Sven

Yes, Nic is correct you cannot perform a partial search for components, but you can search for their complete names.

This is an example:
Project = JIRA and Component in  (“Full name [CN]”, "Full name [IR]")

You can find more details at: Advanced Searching - Component

Hi Daniel, thx for your post. But the problem is: We want to use the filterquery in a qickfilter on kanbanboard. We get the error message that we are using more than 255 letters. So we are searching for an other solution. Regards, Sven

I'm afraid you can't do partial searches on select lists - you have to search for each option you want to include.
