Pending status for JIRA ticket

Good day. 

I'm wondering whether I can set some kind of a 'pending' status for a JIRA ticket and link such ticket to another 'open' one, so that it will have a dependency as following:

Once the second 'Open' ticket is closed, my initial 'Pending' ticket automatically resolves as well.

I will not write the ready solution for you but will give you the direction:

1) JIRA Worklflow - new Status

2) Issue Linking (probably introduce new link)

3) Script Runner post-function (custom code on closing the issue) and resolve the dependent one
