No option to configure new smtp mail server

When viewing Administration>System>Outgoing Mail, there is no option to configure a new smtp mail server.


We are using JIRA Cloud, and I am a System Admin.

This widget could not be displayed.

Correct, you can't add more smtp servers to Cloud, that's a restricted function.  You don't need to, as Cloud has it's own smtp system.

So it there any way to enable emails to users on mentions? We are not currently seeing any email notifications.

There's no way to "disable" them, but you do need to make sure you have the following configuration:

  • The current user must have "browse users" permission (check global permissions)
  • Email visibility must be on as well, so the current user can see the other users email
  • The mentioned users must be able to see the issue
  • The field in which you are using the @mention must be rendered with the rich text option, not plain text
