Migration to a new machine without valid license support period

Sys FF November 2, 2016

Hello,

I have a question about migrating JIRA to a new machine.

As the tasks are fairly simple, one thing bugs me out:

  • Check your license - Verify that your license support period is still valid. (from upgrade and migration guide)

It is possible to migrate JIRA to a new machine (without version change) without valid license support period? Needless to say, our license is valid, just have Maintenance period expired.

Thank you for your answers!

Hello,

leaving this here if someone will run into the same problem.

It is citation from Atlassian support answer:

"... However, you may still proceed to perform the migration with an expired license to versions that are released before the expiry date of your license at your own risk (not entitled to support)."

Cheers!

Good question. You can certainly just copy the installation and the data folder from one server to another. On the licensing part, not sure.
