Migrate from Jira cloud 1000.350.2 to Jira server 7.2.1

Joan Tomas September 21, 2016

Dears,

we are trying to export information from JIRA Cloud to a new JIRA Server. We have followed the intructions but we have some problems:

  • If we want to include attachments on the backup we receive an error. Finally we have generated the backup without attachements.
  • When we try to import this information to our JIRA Server, we receive an error complaining that JIRA cloud is more recent than server and we have to downgrade. Moreover we have enabled the jira.downgrade.allowed=true flag.
  • After finishing the import we are not able to login with old users nor sysadmin.
  • After reboot the server we are able to login with sysadmin but the server can not enter.
  • After some reboots, finally the sysadmin has been able to log in and see the projects but no boards are present.
  • If we try to login as a normal user, the login screen waits forever.

What can we do in order to test successful the server versio of Jira?

Many thanks in advance,

Joan

Errors are now being generated even when we do a JIRA cloud backup without attachments (see screenshot bellow).

We have made several attempts to restore the old backup (generated yesterday) on your JIRA server and all of them failed.

We tried to create a database both in mysql and postgres.

With mysql we got the folling error:

After which we tried to remove the invalid characters as advised at https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira/removing-invalid-characters-from-xml-backups-12079.html

For some reason, one time we ended up with a 500 error and had to start over (see screenshot bellow)

With postgres the problems continued occur and we got the 500 error once again.Screen Shot 2016-09-27 at 16.03.54.png

Your help would be much appreciated.

Regards.
