Migrate From One Instance to Another

dhkundan November 16, 2017

Hi,

I have my project on one instance. Now we have got another JIRA instance. (Both instance have different URLs) I want to migrate my Project from old instance to new one with all Sprints, Issues, and Backlog. Also I do not want to lose any data like comments and attachments. Also for my new instance some fields are not same. How can I maintain consistency for fields while migrating.

Can you suggest me how to migrate from one instance to another.

Thanks.

Hi Kudan,

Configuration Manager for Jira is known to handle migration initiatives with zero data loss. Here is some information on how to go about migrating Jira projects from one instance to another. The last major version of the add-on also supports issues as part of the configuration snapshot, where all original history, agile data and links are preserved.

Cheers,

Bianka

Hello,

As far as I understand you want to migrate not a cloud instance. If you have only one Project in the instance, then it means that you want to migrate the whole instance. In this case you can follow the guide below

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver071/migrating-jira-applications-to-another-server-802592269.html

If there are many projects then you can migrate the whole instance and delete unnecessary data or you can use Project Configurator plugin. You can read more about Project Configurator plugin here.

Though there are limitations for the plugin. You can read more here:
