Limiting assignee to a project group

We would like to limit the assignee during a workflow transition to a particular group. For ex

When moving from state PM review to Legal Review, we would like the transition 'Assign Issue' to only allow for legal team in the assignee

and when moving from state Legal review to Brand Review, we would like the transition 'Assign Issue' to only allow for brand managers in the assignee

Hi Akshay,

did you tried to insert a workflow vallidator in those transistions?

With that, the user would not be able to transistion the issue to the next status with choosing a "wrong" assignee,as he will get a error message
