When a user mentions another user in an issue comment, JIRA sends a "mention" notification to the mentioned user.

In my JIRA installation, I was stunned to notice that only for issues of one project, JIRA sends double notifications in this case. I don't know how to check this, because in the notification scheme of the project, there isn't any way to set mention event.

Where can I check?

Thanks in advance

I guess it boils down to this:

  1. People always get notified when they have been mentioned
  2. The second email most likely is the email triggered by the  "Commented" event

Look at your notification scheme and look at the emails you receive. The summary of the email will most likely look different. e.g. XY has mentioned you in a comment vs. XY has commented on JIRA-XYZ

Hope that makes sense

Cheers
