Jira is asking for port

I have downloaded JIRA. I was in the process of installing it and it was asking me for a port :- as port 8080 is in use ?

What port shall i use instead can you please help.

you can use every port you want, but you have to call JIRA then with the assigned port-number in the browser.

Hi i am installing JIRA on Virtual Machine, we could fined the config file however after making the recommended changes we could not safe the file.

Sorry, I can't helpl you with that. You have to ask the provider of the Virtual Machine. I think there might be some OS restrictions that prevent you from saving your changes.
